Congregational Assessment Tool (CAT)

Holy Cow! SURVEY

We need your help to assist us in building a stronger and more vibrant congregation! We invite everyone to take the Congregational Assessment Tool, affectionately known as the CAT.  Some of you will remember taking this survey two years ago, but a lot has changed in that time, and we need your input!

The CAT consists of 93 questions and can be completed in the privacy of your home online between January 4 and January 28, 2026. Your comments are anonymous. Surveys need to be completed in one sitting – they cannot be saved.  Paper copies are available upon request. If you are an active member of our summer congregation, we encourage you to take the survey as well.

St. Thomas’ Church has contracted with Holy Cow! Consulting to help us with transition planning and building on the good work we have done together over the past two and a half years. The CAT survey help our congregation to:

  • Measure the level of satisfaction and energy in the congregation.
  • Identify the critical success factors for improving organizational climate.
  • Pinpoint the strengths of the congregation’s culture.
  • Discover where members would like to go in the future.
  • Gauge readiness for change.
  • Uncover potential resources the church may be missing.
  • Prepare for a search for the next rector.
